Utrecht University Multidisciplinary PhD Conference on Digital Labour Platforms (17 April 2024)

On April 17th, 2024, our team had the chance to present our research at the Utrecht University Multidisciplinary PhD Conference on Digital Labour Platforms. This conference served as a hub for a diverse array of disciplines, covering a multidisciplinary spectrum of topics ranging from AI and worker engagement to the regulatory landscape. 

Our researchers Özlem Akekmekçi, Zixin Pan, and Karthika Nadarajah presented their ongoing research and received feedback from senior scholars, advancing their work-in-progress to the next phase.Özlem Akekmekçi shared insights from her research titled “What Makes Team Gig Entrepreneurs Successful?”. Zixin Pan presented findings from her study “On the Geography of Skills in Online Labour Markets: What Drives the Type of Skills Offered in the Online Gig Economy”. Karthika Nadarajah delved into “Beyond the Stars: What Drives Gig Worker Satisfaction on Online Gig Platforms?”. 

This event not only provided a platform for sharing cutting-edge research but also facilitated valuable dialogue and collaboration across disciplinary boundaries.
